Brief Description

  • A liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal with a nameplate liquefaction capacity of 20 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG and a peak capacity of approximately 24 MTPA. The project will be built in 2 phases
  • It will have 18 liquefaction blocks, each with a nameplate capacity of approximately 1.1 MTPA of LNG (9 blocks per phase)and Four 200,000 m3 full containment LNG storage tanks (two tanks per phase) and Two marine loading berths
  • There will be an on-site combined cycle gas turbine power plant with a nameplate capacity of 1,440 MW (~720 MW per phase)
  • The plant will effectively be a carbon copy of Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass LNG and Plaquemines LNG facilities
  • CP Express will build, own and operate a new 48-inch-diameter pipeline approximately 85.1 miles in length and a new 24-inch diameter lateral pipeline approximately 5.9 miles in length, connecting the CP2 LNG terminal to the existing natural gas pipeline grid in east Texas and southwest Louisiana.
