Description

  • The Ninian field is located in the UK sector of the North Sea, approximately 100 miles North-East of the Shetland Islands and is approximately 240 miles North-North-East of Aberdeen in UKCS Block 3/03.
  • The Ninian field development programme originally comprised a two-platform strategy: Ninian South Platform (NSP) and Ninian Central Platform (NCP). A third platform, Ninian North Platform (NNP) was installed in June 1978 in order to ensure optimum exploitation of the northern part of the field.
  • NCP is a concrete gravity based structure and the other two are fixed steel platforms
  • The **Lyell Oil Field** and **Strathspey Oil Field** are subsea tie-backs with production via subsea manifold to the Ninian South platform
  • Oil is transported via the Ninian Crude Oil Pipeline to the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal
  • The Orlando Oil Field is a subsea tieback to the Ninian Platform
