Harding Oil Field

The field was initially developed from two pools of oil: Harding Central and South. Since then, two further pools have been developed: Harding South East and by extended reach drilling, Harding North.
The Morrone field (block 9/23b) is 5 km south of the Harding platform. The initial phase of development will consist of an extended reach well drilled from Harding.
The oil from the Harding field requires a form of offshore storage. This is because the crude is heavy and naphthenic
The field utilises a steel self elevating production jackup
Gas is exported by a subsea tie-back of the Devenick Gas Field and a gas export pipeline to connect the gas platform to the Brae gas transmission pipeline
From here, gas is transported to the SAGE St Fergus Gas Processing Terminal via the Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) Pipeline

1987 - Harding was discovered
1993 - HHI awarded platform contract
2005 - AMEC wins engineering and project management contract for gas project
2006 - BP & Maersk Oil Approve Front End Engineering & Design for Harding Area Gas Project
2012 - BP sells the field to Taqa
2013 - Approval awarded for Morrone field
2015 - Approval granted for decommissioning
