  • Petroleum products from this refinery are supplied mainly to eastern India through two product pipelines, namely Haldia-Mourigram-Rajband Pipeline (HMRBPL), and Haldia-Barauni-Kanpur Pipeline (HBKPL)

Projects

  • A project is underway to enable the refinery to produce Group III base oils
  • A hydrocracker has been recently commissioned, with capacity of 2.5 Million TPA
  • The refinery has recently been expanded to 7.5 million tons / annum and a delayed coker was being installed

History

  • 1976 - Refinery commissioned with capacity of 2.5 Million TPA
  • 1983 - 100,000 TPA Propane Deasphalting unit commissioned
  • 1997 - 1997 with the installation/commissioning of the second Crude Distillation Unit of 1.0 MMTPA
  • 1999 - Diesel Hydro Desulphurisation (DHDS) Unit was commissioned
  • 2001 - Resid Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit (RFCCU) was commissioned
  • 2003 - Catalytic Dewaxing Unit (CIDWU) was installed and commissioned
  • 2005 - The Haldia Refinery Motor Spirit Quality Upgrade Project was completed
  • 2010 - Hydrocracker commissioned and capacity expanded to 150,000 bpd
  • 2010 - Euro V diesel project launched
  • 2019 - Base oil project launched
