Description
- Búzios field is some 200km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, at a water depth that ranges from 1,600 to 2,100 meters. It was previously called Franco Oil And Gas Field
- Búzios is the largest deepwater field in the world and the current development concept includes 11 platforms. Currently, six units are under construction (FPSO Almirante Tamandaré, P-78, P-79, P-80, P-82, and P-83)
- The field is currently utilising the Almirante Barroso FPSO, which is capable of producing up to 150,000 barrels/day and of compressing 7 million cubic meters of natural gas/day

Geology
- The oil bearing rock is 272 metres thick
- The pre-salt reservoirs in this field contain good quality oil (between 26º and 28º API)
