Description
- Located 84 Kms. north west of Abu Dhabi Islands , UZ field covers around 1,200 sq Kms of the Gulf marine areas. It is the second largest offshore oil field and the fourth largest oil field in the world.
- The field originally had 90 platforms, but now comprises four artificial islands with associated drilling and production facilities
- The Zirku Oil Processing Plant at Zirku Island comprise three oil processing trains and one train on stand-by.
- An expansion project increased production capacity from 500 kbpd to 750 kbpd and an additional expansion project, UZ 750, is under way to increase production to 1m bpd by 2024. It involves four new artificial islands, to accommodate drilling rigs, processing facilities and infrastructure required to handle production capacity growth
