Details

• Running almost entirely under the Gulf of Mexico, this 800 km (497 mile) long pipeline delivers natural gas from the USA to state of Veracruz.
• The Sur de Texas pipeline supplies natural gas to numerous power plants located in Altamira, Tuxpan and the central region of Mexico through interconnections with TC Energía’s TTamazunchale Gas Pipeline and Tuxpan pipeline and with the Integrated National Natural Gas Transport and Storage System (Sistrangas), the national system operated by the National Natural Gas Control Centre (Cenagas).

History

• 2016 - Transcanada JV chosen to build the pipeline
• 2017 - EPC contract awarded
• 2019 - Pipeline started operations
