TNK-BP plans to build a $74.7 mln bitumen unit at its Saratov Oil Refinery in 2012—14 Other Information - History 1934 - Saratov oil refinery, one of the oldest refineries in Russia, was established The refinery was repeatedly upgraded in 1950s -1980s. The peak throughput of 10 million tons was delivered in the late 1980s. 2004 - Construction of a tar visbreaking section was completed 2008 - The throughput amounted to 6.5 million tons of crude.
