+++ Description
- Gas is processed at a 20 million sm3/day (standard temperature measurement) gas treatment plant
- The plant will also produce 10,000 sm3/day of condensate, and 1,000 m3/day of water.
- The gas produced will be delivered into an existing gas export pipeline to the Sharqiya region, ultimately supplying the existing liquefied natural gas plant at Qalhat near Sur
- Reservoir pressure is expected to start declining within the next few years. The installation of the new compression facilities will enable PDO to maintain pressure for several years
+++ History
- 2002 - SNC-Lavalin-Al-Hassan Joint Venture Awarded Oman Gas Plant Contract
- 2005 - First gas produced
- 2009 - PDO awarded an engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) contract for the Saih Nihayda gas compression project
+++ Geology
- Quite distinct for Saih Nihyada (SN) is the presence of three stacked gas bearing sandstone reservoirs. The Barik sandstone at a depth of about 4050 mss, the Miqrat sandstone at a depth of about 4475 mss and the smaller Amin sandstone at a depth of about 4630 mss
