History

  • 2008 - Construction has officially begun on the Richmond Refinery’s Renewal Project
  • 2009 - A California court halted construction
  • 2011 – Chevron submitted a Conditional Use Permit application to the city of Richmond initiating a process to obtain approval for the construction of operational and environmental improvements
  • 2018 - The project was completed

Other Information

  • The project initially involved the installation of a reformer unit to replace older existing facilities, but falling gasoline demand has forced Chevron to change its mind
