  • 2002 - MOU signed to build refinery
  • 2003 - FEED contracts awarded to Technip
  • 2005 - Refinery EPC awarded to GS/Daewoo
  • 2006 - Joint venture agreements
  • 2006 - Foundation stone laid
  • 2006 - Marubeni, Idemitsu, Cosmo Oil & Mitsui become partners
  • 2009 - Ras Laffan Refinery commissioned
  • 2012 - Qatargas signs Diesel Hydrotreater contract for Laffan Refinery
  • 2016 - The refinery expansion was completed, doubling the capacity
  • 2024 - QatarEnergy enters 20-year naphtha supply agreement with Shell
