The Project

  • Project Type: Greenfield Refinery
  • Project Summary: A medium sized high complexity refinery, designed to supply the growing Vietnamese domestic market. It could potntially be doubled in size at a later date

      • Pre-front-end engineering design (pre-FEED) followed by the FEED
      • Supply of steam methane reformers
    • Axens: has the basic engineering design contracts for some of the units
    • Chevron Lummus Global: Residuum hydrodesulfurization (RHDS) unit
    • JGC, Chiyoda , Technip , SK Engineering & Construction, and GS Engineering - Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)

History

  • 2008 - The partners announce the project
  • 2008 - Foster Wheeler awarded PreFEED
  • 2010 - Foster Wheeler awarded contract for the provision of technical and commercial services
  • 2011 - IFC announces support for the project
  • 2013 - EPC contract signed
  • 2013 - JBIC signed a loan agreement totalling up to 1.65 billion U.S. dollars
  • 2013 - Ground breaking ceremony held
  • 2018 - Refinery commissioned
