History

  • 1920s - Original Refinery Built
  • 1928 - Refinery purchased by Globe Oil & Refining Co and expanded to 38,000 bbl/day
  • 1954 - Refinery acquired by Pure Oil Co.; crude capacity expanded to 53,000 bbl/day
  • 1970 - Refinery expanded to over 100,000 bbl/day
  • 1997 - Becomes 100% subsidiary of PDVSA
  • 2010 - Diesel Desulphurisation unit commissioned
