Description

  • Production is from ten deep-water subsea wells, connected to the newly built Floating Production Unit (FPU) “Jangkrik”. The gas, once processed onboard the FPU, flows via a dedicated 79km pipeline to the Onshore Receiving Facility, and then through the East Kalimantan Transportation System, finally reaching the Bontang LNG Terminal.
  • The development consists of 51 kilometers of umbilicals, five manifolds and seven SSIV(2) subsea structures
  • The Merakes Gas Field is tied back to the Jangkrik platform

Contractors

  • Hyundai Heavy Industries: FPU Hull / LQ construction
  • FMC Technologies: Supply of subsea trees, manifolds, jumpers and connection systems, umbilicals, tooling and associated topside and subsea controls systems
  • McDermott: Fabrication of subsea manifolds and subsea safety isolation valve modules
  • Technip: engineering, procurement, commissioning and installation of:
    • 36 kilometers of flexible risers and flowlines with diameters ranging from 4" to 14",
    • 195 kilometers of pipeline with diameter ranging from 4" to 24",
    • subsea equipment which includes mid-water arch and flowline end termination.
  • Oceaneering: Supply of steel tube production control umbilicals, with a total combined length of approximately 31 miles (50 kilometers)
