Brief Description
- Line 3 is a 1,031 mile (1,660 kilometres), 34-inch diameter pipeline that has been in operation since 1968.
- The pipeline goes from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to Superior, Wisconsin, with 365 miles of pipeline is in the United States.
- It is one of six crude oil pipelines that make up the Enbridge mainline system.
Pipeline Status
- The $2.9-billion U.S. portion of the Line 3 Replacement Program, known as the Line 3 Replacement Project, consists of replacing existing 34-inch pipe with new 36-inch pipe for 13 miles in North Dakota, 337 miles in Minnesota, and 14 miles in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin portion was completed in 2018.
