David Lynch Duran Duran Team To Help Healthcare Workers

David Lynch and swapnilsen2016upto.wixsite.com Duran Duran are launching a special initiative with a very specific goal in mind - to help healthcare workers and medical professionals on the front lines of the fight against [/news/coronavirus/index.html coronavirus].
The campaign is called Heal the Healers Now, and the mission is to use transcendental meditation (TM), a calming meditative technique that has gained traction worldwide, to help alleviate the considerable stresses experienced by those caring for the sick and dying as a result of the ongoing pandemic.
Heal the Healers Now has been organized by the Center for Health and Wellness division of the David Lynch Foundation, which is backed by an impressive list of celebrities including [/tvshowbiz/oprah-winfrey/index.html Oprah Winfrey] and [/tvshowbiz/ellen-degeneres/index.html Ellen DeGeneres].

Mindfulness techniques such as meditation and yoga have been proven as effective measures against a whole variety of issues, from general anxiety to acute post traumatic stress disorder.  
'It's been said that doctors and nurses are fighting a war — and the enemy is the coronavirus,' Lynch, the 74-year-old director of the first Dune and Twin Peaks, said in a statement to [ ].

Oscar-nominated director Lynch and Grammy-winning '80s rockers Duran Duran are also teaming up with crowdfunding platform Omaze to help raise funds for the Heal the Healers Now Fund, by offering fans a chance to win various VIP experiences. 
'We are thrilled to be collaborating with David Lynch and his Foundation through the Omaze campaign. It is a great opportunity to raise funds that will help support healthcare workers who are holding our world together through these traumatic times,' Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes said. 
'It is harder than ever to find peace of mind, so for those who can receive a little help through meditation, it is a wonderful gift to receive.'

The Omaze sweepstakes will feature VIP tickets to a future Duran Duran concert, including flights and accommodations, and a virtual coffee date with Lynch himself.
'With COVID-19 testing our healthcare system's technology, infrastructure and most importantly human resources, the doctors and nurses taking care of the scared and sick patients - at great risk to themselves - deserve the very best tools to manage their health that we can provide them,' said Bob Roth, chief executive officer of the David Lynch Foundation. 'Throughout the years, 5,000 doctors and nurses have learned the TM technique. The goal of the David Lynch Foundation is to teach many thousands more of these heroes over the coming year.'
