Ongoing Projects/Project Status

• Nowadays, it is in execution stage the increase of the LNG storage capacity, which will involve the construction of two new tanks, each of 150,000 m3.
• When the seventh tank is built, the plant’s oldest two 40,000 m3 tanks will be dismantled, and when the eighth tank is built, the 80,000 m3 tank will be dismantled.

History

• 1969 - The terminal commenced operations with two tanks, each with a storage capacity of 40,000 m3
• 1976 - The plant was enlarged, and a third tank (capacity 80,000 m3) was added.
• 1981 - A second enlargement was performed during which another tank (also 80,000 m3) was added
• 2005 - LNG storage capacity was increased with a fifth 150,000 m3 tank, and another similar tank was added in 2006
• 2012 - One of the world’s largest LNG tankers offloaded at Barcelona
