Adil Rashid's figures of 0 for 163 were the worst by a Test debutant, beating Australian leg-spinner Bryce McGain's 0 for 149 against South Africa at Cape Town in 2009.
And Rashid was only three short of equalling Devon Malcolm's 1 for 166 against Australia at Trent Bridge in 1989 - still the most expensive figures by an English Test debutant.

Ali's 0 for 121 was also his worst Test analysis.
Only Zaheer Abbas has made more at No 3 for Pakistan against England than Shoaib Malik's 245.
Abbas hit 274 at Edgbaston in 1971.
