Brief Description
- The project was previously an import terminal, Port Arthur LNG Terminal
- The proposed liquefaction project is designed to include: two natural gas liquefaction trains with a total export capability of approximately 13.5 million tons per annum, or 1.4 billion cubic feet per day; two 160,000-cubic-meter storage tanks; marine facilities for vessel berthing and loading; natural gas liquids and refrigerant storage; feed gas pre-treatment; truck loading and unloading areas; and combustion turbine generators for self-generation of electrical power.
- Phase 2 of the project will add two liquefaction trains (trains 3 and 4) capable of producing up to 13 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG)

- Baker Hughes - supply four Frame 7 turbines paired with eight centrifugal compressors as well as two electric motor driven compressors

- 2015 - Sempra Energy Submits For Pre-File Review With FERC
- 2018 - PGNIG signed an agreement for 2.0 million tpa of LNG
- 2019 - Sempra recieved FERC aproval for the project
- 2019 - Saudi Aramco agrees to become a 25% partner and buy 5 million tpa
- 2020 - Bechtel signed and EPC contract for the project
- 2022 - Sempra and RWE Sign Heads of Agreement for LNG Supply
- 2022 - ConocoPhillips agrees to buy 30% of the project and 5 million tpa of LNG
- 2022 - Final EPC contract signed
- 2023 - Final investment decision
- 2023 - the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has approved the permit authorizing the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 expansion project
- 2023 - KKR acquired 42% of Phase 1
