Description

  • The field is no longer producing and is being decommissioned
  • The Hewett field offshore installations comprised six offshore installations
    • The A Platform, FTP Platform & Q Platform are manned
    • The 52/5 A Platform, B Platform & C Platform are unmanned
  • Gas from the processing complex is exported to the Bacton Gas Plant.
  • There are six neighbouring fields, which are separate from the main reservoir, but served by the same platforms and infrastructure. These are called Dawn, Deborah, Della, Delilah, Big Dotty and Little Dotty,
  • Eni had planned to convert the Hewett Gas Field into a gas storage facility, but it is now being evaluated as a CO,,2,, sequestration site

History

  • 1964 - The original seismic cube over the Hewett and D-Fields (Survey PH943F0003) was acquired
  • 1969 - Project development approved by UK Government
  • 1969 - The Hewett field complex began production
  • 2001 - BP sells ARCO's share of the field to Tullow
  • 2003 - Tullow acquired Conoco-Phillips stake
  • 2005 - Centrica sells its stake to Petrofac
  • 2008 - Eni completed the acquisition of a 51.69% equity interest from Tullow
  • 2019 - The Cessation of Production application for the field was approved by the OGA
