Details
- TGP is a 13,900-mile pipeline system with a design capacity of about 7.5 billion cubic feet (Bcf) per day. It transports natural gas from Louisiana, the Gulf of Mexico and south Texas to the northeastern United States, including the metropolitan areas of New York City and Boston
- It is supplied by the Constitution Gas Pipeline Company, Independence Trail Natural Gas Pipeline, High Island Offshore Natural Gas Pipeline System, Viosca Knoll Gas Pipeline System and Destin Gas Pipeline
- Tennessee Gas Pipeline connects with the Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation at the Milford Compressor station in Pennsylvania and with Gulf South Gas Pipeline System
- It connects to the Iroquois Gas Pipeline at Wright , NY and to the East Tennessee Natural Gas Pipeline
- The pipeline is connected to the Egan Natural Gas Hub, the Perryville Center Natural Gas Hub and the Everett Marine LNG Terminal
- It can supply the Cameron LNG Export Terminal Project
- There is to be an interconnect to supply the Driftwood LNG Export Terminal Project
- In 2024 the Mississippi Crossing Project was launched. It is designed to transport up to 1.5 Bcf/d of natural gas and primarily involves the construction of nearly 206 miles of 42-inch and 36-inch pipeline and two new compressor stations. The project will originate near Greenville, Mississippi, and conclude near Butler, Alabama
