Summary Information

Brief Description

  • ExxonMobil's Singapore Refinery has two operating sites - one on the mainland and another on Jurong Island. The integrated refinery manufactures a wide range of fuels, lubes and specialty products. The Refinery also provides advantaged feedstock to the steam cracker and two aromatics plants that are located adjacent to the Refinery.

Projects

  • The Exxon Singapore Resid Upgrade Project will add approximately 20,000 barrels per day of light, heavy and extra-heavy lubricant base stocks. Exxon expects the project to be completed in 2025
  • In 2010, ExxonMobil announced its plans to build a diesel hydrotreater at its Singapore refinery, increasing the refinery’s production capacity of ultra low sulfur diesel fuel
  • It came on stream in 2014

  • 1965 - Jurong Refinery comes on stream
  • 1971 - Jurong Island (PAC) Refinery comes on stream
  • 1973 - Capacity expanded with the addition of 157,000 bpd CDU (Chiyoda)
  • 1982 - Atmospheric distillation unit debottlenecked, visbreaker and Vacuum Distillation Unit added (Chiyoda)
  • 1985 - Mobil revamps it CDU to allow the processing of far eastern crudes
  • 1990 - Hydrocracking unit, Hydrogen Unit and Distillate Dewaxing Unit commissioned (Chiyoda)
  • 1994 - Mobil completes its US$1.1 billion continuous catalytic reformer and aromatics unit
  • 1997 - Mobil completes US$250 million lubricant base oil plant. Refining capacity at Pioneer Road facility raised to 300,000 bpd
  • 2014 - Light Oil Desulphurization Unit commissioned
