Summary Information
- Operator: BP
- Country: UK
- Location: 75 km West of Shetland, North Sea
- Production start: 2005
- Partners: Shell, ConocoPhillips and Chevron
- Type: Oil
- Estimated Reserves: 7 billion barrels of oil equivalent
- Production Volume:
+++ Description
- The giant Clair field is the UK’s largest hydrocarbon resource, with total volumes initially in place across the entire field currently estimated at more than 7 billion barrels of oil equivalent
- Due to the highly complex and fractured nature of the reservoir, there has been considerable uncertainty as to how much of the oil could be recovered
- The Clair field extends over an area of 220km2, in water depths of approximately 140m
- Oil and gas is exported via pipelines to the [[[Sullom Voe Oil Terminal]]] on Shetland
- Platform flow rates are 60,000 BPD oil, 100,000 BPD water and 40 MMSCFD gas lift compression
- The platform topsides comprise three decks, which accommodate all the required facilities for drilling and processing of the produced fluids.
- The platform jacket for Clair is a four-legged single steel structure of around 165 metres (540 feet) in height.
- Gas is transported to Sullom Voe on the [[[West Of Shetlands Gas Pipeline System]]]
+++ Contractors
- **Mustang Engineering:** Front end engineering, detail design and project management for the platform
- **Aker Verdal:** Fabrication of the platform jacket
- **Kvaerner:** Jacket and Piles
- **AMEC:** Fabrication and integration of deck
- **Saipem:** Installation of platform
- **Stolt Offshore:** Construction and installation of the gas import/export system
- **BiFab:** Skids/Compression Module
