Fuel prices have fallen for the third month in a row with the average price of unleaded down to 126.42p a litre.
That compares with 129.15p in early August and cuts the cost of filling up the 55-litre tank of a family car to £69.53 - the lowest since March, says the RAC.
The same survey shows that diesel fell from 132.04p to 130.49p a litre during the same period.

Simon Williams, of the RAC, said the price cuts were 'clearly good news for drivers... but it's disappointing they haven't fallen further'.

Meanwhile, motorway service stations have been heavily criticised for charging between 19p and 29p a litre more than the average at local pumps, adding up to £16 to the price of a full tank.
Motoring groups called the difference a 'national disgrace' and said the Department for Transport had not followed through on its promise to stop the exploitation of motorway drivers.
