Description
- The Baleine field extends over blocks CI-101 and CI-802.
- The FPSO Firenze, has been renamed Baleine after its arrival in Cote d’Ivoire, has been refurbished and upgraded in order to allow it to treat up to 15,000 bbl/d of oil and around 25 Mcfd/d of associated gas.
- The entire gas production will be delivered onshore via a newly built export pipeline.
- The start of Phase 2 is expected by the end of 2024 and will increase field production to 50,000 bbl/d of oil and approximately 70 Mscf/d of associated gas.
- The third development phase aims to elevate field production up to 150,000 bbl/d of oil and 200 Mscf/d of gas.
Contractors
- Saipem:
- Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) activities of Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) and of an onshore gas pipeline for the connection to the distribution grid
- Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning activities regarding the refurbishment of the Firenze FPSO vessel
Phase 2
- Baker Hughes
- eight deep water trees, three Aptara™ manifolds, the relevant subsea production control system, and flexible risers and jumpers
History
- 2021 - Baleine Oil and Gas Field discovered
- 2022 - Final investment decision taken
- 2022 - Saipem awarded major contracts
- 2023 - The FPSO sets sail for the Baleine Oil and Gas Field
- 2023 - First oil and gas produced
Geology
- The resources are in light oil bearing intervals of Santonian and Cenomanian / Albian age. The lower Cenomanian / Albian level shows discrete to good reservoir characteristics
