* Prelude is a floating facility. The dimensions of Shell’s FLNG facility are approximately 480 by 75 metres, and when fully ballasted, the FLNG facility will weigh around 600,000 tonnes. The platform will be the largest ship ever built
* The [[[Prelude Gas Field]]] is located in the Browse Basin, northeast of Broome Western Australia, in water depths of approximately 820 feet (250 meters)

* 2011 - Final investment decision taken
* 2011 - Technip / Samsung launch design process
* 2012 - Nexus non-binding HOA with Shell & Osaka Gas to join project
* 2012 - Inpex agrees to acquire a 17.5% participating interest in the project
