See Mari El Refinery Expansion Project
The objective of the project is to increase the refinery crude processing capacity more than threefold to 90.000 barrels per stream day and to increase its ability to convert lower-value products to higher-value ones.
The project comprises:
New Refinery Train including crude and vacuum distillation units, hydrocracking, hydrodesulphurisation, amine and sulphur recovery units, solvent deasphalting unit, hydrogen production unit, sour water stripping facilities and new utilities storage and storage facilities
A power plant will be built to burn the asphalt from solvent deasphalting unit to produce steam for electric power generation for refinery and for export to public grid. Nitrogen oxide and sulphur oxide removal systems will be installed to clean boilers flue gases
