* Foinaven is located some 190 kilometres to the north west of Orkney, mainly in UK block 204/24a
* Foinaven phase 1 is based on Golar-Nor's Floating Production Storage and Offtake (FPSO) vessel "[[Petrojarl Foinaven FPSO]]"
* The [[East Foinaven Oil and Gas Field]] has been developed as a subsea tie-back to the main Foinaven Field
* Gas is exported via a 10 inch pipeline to the [[West of Shetlands Gas Pipeline System]] which transports gas to the [[Sullom Voe Oil Terminal]] in the Shetland Islands

* 1994 - The Foinaven Oil Field development project was sanctioned
* 1997 - Foinaven produces first oil
* 2000 - Phase 1 development is completed
* 2000 - Marathon acquired Shell's stake
* 2001 - First oil from East Foinaven
* 2012 - Faroe Petroleum acquired a stake in East Foinaven
