The sources of supply of raw materials (raw and semifinished) are insured by both established contractual relationships with key producing countries (such as Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Russia, Syria, Tunisia and Venezuela) both stable relations with major oil companies and major companies trading internationally.

History
1939 a coastal terminal is completed in Falconara Marittima (Ancona) at a strategic location at the center of the Adriatic coast.
1949 obtained a concession for the processing of crude oil (200,000 t / y) in Falconara Marittima. Construction began on the first plant distillation (topping) and all related services
In December 1950 the refinery in Falconara Marittima enters production.
1951 -1954 the following plants are added, petroleum reforming, catalytic desulfurization of gasoline, and plant visbreaking to increase the the yield of middle distillates.
To meet the growing demand for petroleum products a second atmospheric distillation unit and the first vacuum unit (for the production of bitumen) are built.
1960 A unifiner and a platformer unit are added.
1971 is designed and implemented a 16 km long submarine pipeline connected to an offshore platform off Falconara type, rotating head that allows the mooring of large tonnage tankers up to 400,000 tons. (Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC). (Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC).
In 1974 refinery being built tanks 61 and 62 from 160,000 cubic meters. They are the largest in Europe with a diameter large enough to include a football field.
1983 - 1990 The refinery started a program of restructuring and optimization of the production cycle is the establishment of new production, as its new facility at atmospheric distillation, and the modernization of existing units. During this period, the refinery began a series of major investments that lead to the inclusion of innovative conversion facilities.
1992 A joint venture with ABB Group for the realization of 'IGCC, one of the first European combined cycle plant that uses heavy fractions of the refining cycle, transforming them into a gas synthesis "clean" (syngas), which gives the production of electricity and steam.
1996 The 3rd diesel desulphurization unit was commissioned, which thanks to its efficiency 99.5% is able to produce diesel with sulfur concentrations very low (less than 0.05).
1996 - ABB awarded IGCC contract
2000 The Falconara IGCC come onstream for electricity production.
2005 The Bee Group acquires the company
