+++ Brief Description
* The Calypso Deepwater Port, proposed to be located approximately 8 to 10 miles offshore from Port Everglades, Florida, is an anchor and buoy system that will deliver natural gas in its common vapor form to an undersea pipeline. The facility will be designed to moor specially built tankers that store and transport LNG. The LNG will be converted from a liquid to a gaseous state on board the ship before being transferred to a pipeline system that is part of Deepwater Port facility. The Deepwater Port facility will in turn connect to an undersea pipeline and will have the capacity to deliver over 1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas, the equivalent of approximately 25 percent of Florida’s peak demand for natural gas on a hot summer day, to an onshore interconnect in Florida.
