David Warner has continued his brilliant form ahead of the Cricket World Cup with another IPL half-century, but was upstaged by a superb match-winning 96 by former Test teammate Shane Watson. Watson belted 96 from 53 balls to guide Chennai Super Kings to a seven-wicket win over Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad side on Tuesday. Warner, who leads the competition with 574 runs, has now passed 50 in eight of his 10 innings and has one century to his name in a blistering return to action following a 12-month suspension. The NSW left-hander scored 57 from 45 deliveries as the Sunrisers scored 3-175 after being put in to bat by CSK skipper MS Dhoni. Warner's innings was a more measured affair compared to many of his big-hitting innings for the Sunrisers, and contained just four boundaries and two sixes. His vigil was ended by the quick hands of Dhoni, who stumped the 32-year-old off the bowling of veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh. Manish Pandey went on score an unbeaten 83 to help the Sunrisers to a decent total and the visitors got off to the perfect start by running out South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis for one. But Watson and [http://babetopcricketer.mystrikingly.com/blog/harbhajan-test-century http://babetopcricketer.mystrikingly.com/blog/harbhajan-test-century] Suresh Raina (37) steadied the ship and Watson laid the platform for victory only be cruelly denied a fourth IPL ton by a brilliant legside diving catch by England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow. The hosts required nine from the final over and crawled over the line with a ball to spare through Dwayne Bravo after Ambati Rayudu (21) holed out with just a run needed for victory.

id="article-body" class="row" section="article-body"> South Korean student Teddy Lee and YouTuber Mazen Kourouche walk out with two of the first iPhone XS handsets sold in the world in Sydney, Australia. Claire Reilly/CNET [/apple-event/ This story is part of Apple Event, our full coverage of the latest news from Apple headquarters.]The crowds might be smaller than at last year's [/reviews/apple-iphone-x-review/ iPhone X] launch, but if you thought 11 years of launches would lessen the die-hard [/apple/ Apple] fandom, think again. Apple's newest [/reviews/apple-iphone-xs-review/ iPhone] models -- the snappily named [/reviews/apple-iphone-xs-review/ iPhone XS] (that's "ten S") and [/reviews/apple-iphone-xs-max-review/ iPhone XS Max] -- are hitting stores around the world on Friday (officially knocking the iPhone X out of Apple's lineup in the process). The [/news/apple-watch-series-4s-new-watch-faces-reviewed-great-start-more-please/ Apple Watch Series 4] also makes its in-store debut today. Sydney, as usual, was one of the first cities to get a bite, with stores in cities around the world opening their doors as the morning creeps in. More than a decade since the launch of the original iPhone, the phenomenon of the Apple fanboy line continues to exist, even if the numbers have waned over the years. With online preorders, in-store pickups and deals from carrier partners, there's less reason than ever to wait in line. The iPhone XS, meanwhile, offers only incremental upgrades to last year's iPhone X, with the iPhone XS Max getting a size increase and more battery. Yet the fanboys keep showing up -- even if they've ordered everything in advance. "It's tradition," said Justin Harris, who has been waiting in lines for the past several years and wasn't even at the Union Square Apple Store in San Francisco. He showed up just to try the products -- which were already being shipped to him later today. The lines are a sign of the enduring loyalty of Apple, unusual in an industry where tech favorites rise and fall with shifting consumer whims. Many, however, are visiting from countries that aren't getting the phone right away, or just like the attention of being first. Like last year, Apple opted to split the release of its new iPhones, with the [/products/apple-iphone-xr/ iPhone XR] launching next month. The extra wrinkle is Apple releasing its two higher-end phones first, with the more [/news/apples-rumored-budget-iphone-x-successor-may-be-the-most-intriguing-iphone/ intriguing "budget"] version coming on Oct. 26. The iPhone XS and Max don't come cheap. The starting price for the 64GB iPhone XS is $999 (AU$1,629 in Australia and £999 in the UK), while the Max starts at $1,099 (AU$1,799 and £1,049). The lower-priced [/reviews/apple-iphone-xr-later-review/ iPhone XR], meanwhile, starts at $749 (AU$1,229 and £749). For that price, the smartphones get dual rear cameras, a front-facing camera with portrait mode, [http://babetopcricketer.mystrikingly.com/blog/harbhajan-test-century babetopcricketer.mystrikingly.com] Apple's new A12 Bionic chip (which promises to launch apps 30 percent faster than 2017 iPhones), Faster Face ID unlocking and dual-SIM card support. Read our full iPhone XS [/reviews/apple-iphone-xs-review/ here] and iPhone XS Max review [/reviews/apple-iphone-xs-max-review/ here]. Which of the two smartphones won out? It depends on the region, although many opted for the supersized iPhone XS Max. Sydney Crowds queued outside the Apple Sydney store on George Street in the early hours on Friday.

After creating a row by deploying bouncers outside a Sikh shrine, spinner Harbhajan Singh has courted another controversy by offering hookahs to guests during his marriage celebrations. Sikh organisations are up in arms against Bhajji, who allegedly violated Sikh religious norms by allowing the smoking of tobacco, which is forbidden in Sikhism. Sikh organisations, in a complaint, have written to the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) while accusing Bhajji of making available 113 types of tobacco for [http://babetopcricketer.mystrikingly.com/blog/harbhajan-test-century http://babetopcricketer.mystrikingly.com/blog/harbhajan-test-century] hookah lovers who attended his wedding. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the reception of Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra at a top Delhi hotel The Sikh Action Committee, in a letter written to the Jalandhar police commissioner, has demanded action against the cricketer. Irate Sikhs have accused Bhajji of hurting the religious sentiments of Sikhs by allowing people to smoke hookah while he took his wedding wows with his long-time girlfriend Geeta Basra. Hookahs were offered to guests during the spinner's marriage celebrations "Despite being a Sikh, Harbhajan Singh insulted the Sikh religion by offering hookah to guests. Using tobacco has been banned in Sikh religion. He had earlier too violated norms when on Thursday he deployed bouncers outside a gurudwara and closed it so others could not enter the shrine. "The bouncers misbehaved with devotees," Sikh Action Committee spokesperson RS Bagga said. Sikh organisations have also approached SGPC to take action against Bhajji. All India Sikh Students Federation chief Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad said keeping in view the palpable tension in the state over desecration of a holy book, the cricketer should have solemnised his marriage in a simple manner. "He (Harbhajan Singh) violated the norms by providing hookahs to the guests. Even the gurudwara where he solemnised his marriage was closed to the general public that caused inconvenience to the devotees. He should apologise for the same," Peer Mohammad said. Earlier, his bouncers had allegedly manhandled mediapersons on the night of October 29. The police have arrested four bouncers for allegedly manhandling journalists and damaging their cameras. Dhoni Won apos;t Play For India Again Says IPL Teammate Harbhajan

2020-06-24T11:27:42Z

BarbraMof3430:

India's Mahendra Singh Dhoni hasn't played since last year's World Cup Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said he doesn't think Mahendra Singh Dhoni will play for India again, adding to the guessing game over the future of the superstar former captain. Dhoni, 38, has not appeared for club or country since last year's 50-over World Cup and India's coronavirus lockdown could threaten his chances of getting back into the national team. The Indian Premier League, the main platform before this year's scheduled T20 World Cup, is likely to be truncated or [http://babetopcricketer.mystrikingly.com/blog/harbhajan-test-century babetopcricketer.mystrikingly.com] cancelled because of the pandemic. Harbhajan, who plays with Dhoni at IPL side Chennai Super Kings, said international retirement was on the cards for Dhoni and that he was increasingly being asked about his teammate. "It's up to him. You need to know whether he wants to play for India again," Harbhajan said in an online forum. "As far as I know him, he won't want to wear India's blue jersey again. IPL he will play, but for India I think he had decided the (2019) World Cup was his last." Dhoni, who gave up Test cricket in 2014, started training for the Super Kings in March but has not commented on his international future. Dhoni led India to win the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in 2007. He hit a six to seal the 2011 World Cup final victory and, along with it, his status as a national hero. He has amassed 10,773 runs from 350 ODIs.
