Description

  • The Snøhvit gas and condensate field was the first offshore development in the Barents Sea
  • No fixed or floating units are used, instead, the subsea production facilities stand on the seabed, in water depths of 250-345 metres.
  • This output is transported to land through a 143-kilometre pipeline to the Hammerfest LNG facilities
  • It consists of three reservoirs, **Snøhvit**, **Albatross** and **Askeladden**.
  • CO2 is naturally present in the reservoir and is produced with natural gas at the field.
  • The CO2 is separated from the gas onshore before it is pumped back to the reservoir via a dedicated pipeline.
