  • The project includes one trunk line of 4,978km-long trunk line and eight branches which travel through 15 provinces totalling 8,704 kilometers in lenght
  • It transports gas from Xinjiang's Horgos to Shanghai in the east, and to the south reaches Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
  • The pipeline is designed to deliver 30 billion cubic meters of gas per annum
  • The pipeline transports natural gas imported from Central Asian countries and gas produced domestically in the Tarim, Junggar, Tuha and Ordos basins

  • 2008 - Construction of the Second West-East Gas Pipeline commenced
  • 2010 - Zhongwei-Huangpi trunk line became operational
  • 2011 - Trunkline completed
