- 2002 - MOU signed to build refinery

- 2006 - Joint venture agreements
- 2006 - Foundation stone laid
- 2006 - Marubeni, Idemitsu, Cosmo Oil & Mitsui become partners
- 2009 - Ras Laffan Refinery commissioned
- 2012 - Qatargas signs Diesel Hydrotreater contract for Laffan Refinery
- 2016 - The refinery expansion was completed, doubling the capacity
