Summary Information

Brief Description

  • The terminal will have up to thirty-six 0.626 MTPA liquefaction trains, configured in eighteen blocks, with up to six pre-treatment trains
  • There will be up to three ship loading berths for LNG vessels carrying a capacity of up to 185,000 cubic meters and up to four 200,000 cubic meter full containment LNG storage tanks
  • Two 720 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plants, including additional 25 MW gas-fired aeroderivative turbines
  • A utility dock on the Mississippi River to handle waterborne deliveries of equipment and material during both construction and project operations.
  • Gas will be supplied by two 42-inch diameter pipelines, 15 and 12 miles long respectively, that connect to existing interstate natural gas pipelines.

Suppliers / Customers

  • Suppliers: Two pipelines will supply from the transmission network
  • Segment 2, a looped section of approximately 12-mile long, 42-inch diameter pipeline and appurtenant facilities, to deliver additional supplies to the terminal from the interconnection with Texas Eastern Transmission Gas Pipeline
  • Customers:
    • PGNIG will take 4.0 mn tpa
    • EDF has agreed to buy 1.0mn tpa

History

  • 2018 - PGNIG signed a contract for 2.5 million tons per annum
  • 2020 - EDF signs sales agreement
  • 2020 - KBR awarded EPC contract for the facility
  • 2021 - PGNIG increased their contract to 4.0 million tons per annum
  • 2021 - CNOOC agreed to buy 2.0 million tonnes per annum
