Description

• The Ormen Lange field, discovered in 1997, is located 100 km off the northwest coast of Norway where the water depth is 850 to 1,100 metres. The field is the second largest gas field in Norway with recoverable gas estimated at 397 billion Sm3 and 28.5 million Sm3 of condensate.
• The field has been developed with sea-floor installations at depths of between 800 and 1,100 metres, combined with an onshore plant at Nyhamna in Aukra municipality in Norway, for processing and exporting the gas.
• Gas is delivered to the UK market via the Langeled Gas Pipeline

Ormen Lange North Field Project

• The project will add a fourth subsea production template (template C) around 6 km to the north of the existing main production area that contains three templates (A, B and D).

Contractors

• **FMC Technologies:** six subsea trees, one eight slot manifold with protection structures, related control systems and four pipeline end modules with connection equipment
• **Acergy:** Installation of a MEG line and umbilical and tie–in and commissioning of the MEG line, umbilical and flowlines
• **Saipem:** Transport and installation of two pipelines
• **Kvaerner:** Slug catcher

  • Supply the two 125 kilometres main umbilicals
  • Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the infield umbilical for the Ormen Lange North Field project

• 2021 - PGNIG agreed to acquire a 14% stake from Ineos

Geology

• The main reservoir consists of sandstones of Paleocene age in the “Egga” Formation, about 2 700 - 2 900 metres below sea level
