  • Project Summary: A greenfield refinery to serve the Southern Iraqi market
  • Main Contractors:
    • Foster Wheeler
    • UOP will provide reforming, isomerization, fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) and selective hydrotreating technologies
    • Axens will provide residue & middle distillate hydrotreating and Isomerisation technologies

+++ Refining Units

  • There are two options
    • VGO Hydrocracker + VGO FCC + Blown Asphalting
      • In this case, the upgrading of the vacuum residue is not considered, and it is used as fuel for power plant and asphalt production.
    • AR Direct Desulfurization + Resid FCC
      • This is a scheme to convert most of atmospheric residue to light oils.
  • H-OilRC Unit, - 52,000 barrels per day (BPSD)
  • Prime-D™ – Gas Oil desulfurization hydrotreater - 105,000 BPSD
  • Prime-K™ – Kerosene desulfurization hydrotreater - 24,000 BPSD
  • Butane Isomerization unit – 11,900 BPSD.
