History

  • 1983 - First cargo delivered
  • 2005 - Foster Wheeler Awarded EPC Contract for Debottlenecking Project
  • 2007 - Long-term contract signed with Shanghai LNG Company
  • 2012 - Chiyoda – Saipem Joint Venture awarded contract for FEED for train 9
  • 2012 - Linde awarded contract for boil off gas liquefaction system
  • 2014 - JGC Wins LNG Plant Rejuvenation Project
  • 2017 - Train 9 starts commercial operations
  • 2018 - SFS acquired Shell's stake

Ongoing Projects/Project Status

  • The plant is being debottlenecked to add a million tons of capacity
  • A 9th train with an additional 3.6 million tons capacity was added in 2017, Malaysia LNG Terminal Train 9
