Carson serves as the front end of the refinery by processing crude oil, and Wilmington serves as the back end by upgrading the products. Refining Units Atmospheric Distillation, 139,000 Vacuum Distillation, 82,000 Delayed Coker, 53,200 Fluidised Catalytic Cracker, 51,600 Hydrocracker, 27,500 Catalytic Reforming, 36,000 Naphtha Desulphurisation, 50,800 Kerosine Desulphurisation, 12,900 Diesel Desulphurisation, 32,000 Terminal Capacity Crude Oil: Refined Products: Crude Supply The refinery processes mainly heavy, high-sulfur crude oil. It receives domestic crude oil via pipeline from California and both foreign and domestic crude oil by tanker through a third-party terminal in the Port of Long Beach Products Produced The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, such as gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel.
