Deepwater Project Highlights

  1. Tweneboa Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) Oil and Gas Fields
    • Ghana
    • KW1398
    • Tullow Oil
    • 2011 Initial scope included working as part of Tullow’s in-house team providing concept and pre-FEED engineering of the pipelines and flowline scope of the subsea development undertaking specialist studies including geohazards and SCR concept.
    • Following on, KW was retained as the subsea management team to oversee the Subsea FEED contractor.
    • The subsea/FPSO development is offshore Ghana in approximately 1500m of water, encompassing three drill centres with manifolds, production and injection flowlines, umbilicals and riser system.
  2. CLOV Oil and Gas Fields
    • Angola
    • KW1522
    • Total / Subsea7
    • 2011
    • Lateral buckling and pipeline walking assessment and mitigation design for pipeline systems associated with the CLOV development, which is located in the north-western part of Block 17, deep offshore Angola, approximately 40km north-north-west of the Girassol Development and 200km to shore.
    • It consists of four reservoirs in water depths ranging from 1050m to 1410m.

Burullus Phase 8 Tender Support Eqypt KW1303 Burullus / Acergy 2010 Design and installation methodology input to Acergy for the tender submission for the next phase of the West Delta Deep Concession comprising of 10-wells tied back through the existing export infrastructure in water depths ranging between 400 and 750m. KW were responsible for developing the field architecture; design of the production manifolds; control/chemical distribution manifolds; PLEM’s and association suction piles; PLET’s and other utility structures. The scope included the validation of the flowline design and design of the rigid vertical jumper and flexible flowline connections. A key element of the work involved provision of an optimised field architecture and alternative, equipment optimization/ standardization, operability and construction reviews.

  1. Girassol Oil Field
    • Angola
    • KW0925
    • Total / Subsea7
    • 2008
    • Design of a pioneering repair system for Subsea7 for deep water pipelines, for use in the repair of a 12" water injection pipeline in 1360m water depth.
    • Responsible for the design of the spoolpiece introduced to accommodate the expected expansions and for the analysis of the installation and deployment operations of the repair system.
  2. KG D6 Gas Field
    • India
    • KW0982
    • Reliance / Bechtel
    • 2007
    • Third Party review and verification of lateral buckling and pipe walking issues.
  3. Akpo Oil Field
    • Nigeria KW0981
    • Total / Saipem SA
    • 2007
    • Verification of contractor’s lateral buckling and walking analysis for 10" infield deep water flowlines in 1300m water depth, using detailed non-linear ABAQUS FE models.
