Description

  • One of the largest finds of 2007, it is Ghana's first oil producing field
  • This field is located off the coast of Ghana at water depths ranging between 1,200 and 1,700 meters
  • The Kwame Nkrumah MV21 FPSO is capable of processing more than 120,000 barrels of oil per day, and injecting more than 230,000 barrels of water per day and 160 MMscfd of produced gas
  • A gas plant was constructed onshore
    • The Jubilee South East (JSE) Project added 3 producer wells and one for water injection to maintain production levels.

Contractors

  • **Modec:** Provision and operation of FSPO
  • **Sembcorp Marine:** FPSO conversion, including detailed engineering, installation and integration of 18 topside modules, installation of external turret and power generation, accommodation upgrading as well as extensive piping and electrical cabling works.
  • **Technip:**
    • Engineering and fabrication of seven 10-inch diameter and two 8-inch diameter risers,
    • engineering, fabrication and installation of approximately 48 kilometers of production and gas and water injection rigid flowlines,
    • Installation of 26 kilometers of umbilicals(4), nine flexible risers (supplied by Technip under the first contract) and subsea manifold and riser base structures,
    • Connection of the flowlines to the wellheads and subsea manifolds,
    • test of the entire system.
  • **Aker Solutions:** FPSO installation
  • **First Subsea:** Supply of the mooring connectors for the FPSO

History

  • 2007 - The field is discovered
  • 2008 - Modec awarded FSPO contract
  • 2009 - The Minister of Energy in Ghana formally approves the Jubilee field Phase 1 Development Plan
  • 2009 - Technip awarded two contracts for the development of the Jubilee field
  • 2010 - First oil produced in December
  • 2011 - First oil exported
  • 2012 - The first Jubilee Phase 1A production well was brought on stream
  • 2019 - Oxy becomes a partner following acquisition of Anadarko
  • 2022 - Tullow increased its stake to 38.9% by buying Oxy's stake
  • 2023 - Jubilee South East (JSE) Project began producing
