Summary Information
- Operator: Inpex
- Country: Australia
- Location: The Browse Basin, Western Australia
- Production start: Expected in 2016
- Partners: INPEX 76% and Total 24%
- Type: Gas & Condensate
- Estimated Reserves: 12.8 tcf of gas and 527 million barrels of high value condensate
- Production Volume:
Description
- Gas from the Ichthys Field, in the Browse Basin approximately 200 kilometers offshore Western Australia, will undergo preliminary processing offshore to remove water and extract condensate.
- The development uses a central processing facility (CPF) and the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility
- The CPF is the largest semi-submersible in the world
- The [[[Ichthys FPSO]]] vessel has 1.2 million barrels storage capacity
- The gas will then be exported to onshore processing facilities in Darwin via an 889-kilometer subsea pipeline.
- The [[[Ichthys LNG Terminal | Ichthys LNG Project]]] is expected to produce 8.4 million tonnes of LNG and 1.6 million tonnes of LPG per annum, along with approximately 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
+++ Contractors
