- Foinaven is located some 190 kilometres to the north west of Orkney, mainly in UK block 204/24a
- Foinaven phase 1 is based on Golar-Nor's Floating Production Storage and Offtake (FPSO) vessel "Petrojarl Foinaven FPSO"
- The East Foinaven Oil and Gas Field has been developed as a subsea tie-back to the main Foinaven Field
- Gas is exported via a 10 inch pipeline to the West of Shetlands Gas Pipeline System which transports gas to the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal in the Shetland Islands
