Description
- The Dvalin gas field was previously known as Zidane, consists of two separate structures: Dvalin East and Dvalin West. The water depth is 400 metres.
- The field is located in Production Licence (PL) 435, approximately 15 kilometres northwest of the Heidrun field and 35 kilometres south of the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea.
- The development concept is a subsea template with four gas producers tied back to the Heidrun platform.
- Gas from the field will be transported via Heidrun through the Polarled Gas Pipeline to the Nyhamna Gas Plant
- Production was delayed when the level of mercury in the gas exceeded what was expected.
Dvalin North
- The Dvalin North gas field is located around 200 km off the coast of Northern Norway, west of Sandnessjøen at a water depth of 420 metres. It is estimated to contain around 84 million barrels of oil equivalent
- The development concept includes drilling three producing wells from a single subsea template, and pipeline connections to the existing Dvalin field located 10km to the south
Contractors
- **Technip**: EPCI contract for the subsea development
- **Aker Solutions:** A production system encompassing a manifold, four subsea trees and a 15-kilometer long umbilical
History
- 2010 - Dvalin Gas Field discovered
- 2012 - A second gas-bearing reservoir was discovered
- 2016 - Contracts awarded for the development
- 2019 - First production wells drilled
- 2021 - Project delayed due to high levels of mercury
- 2021 - Sval Enerji acquires Edison Norge and increases its stake
- 2022 - PDO submitted for Dvalin North

Geology
- Dvalin consists of two separate structures, Dvalin East and Dvalin West. Both discoveries contain gas in Middle Jurassic sandstones of the Garn and Ile Formations.
