2001 - The terminal started operations with one tank

2009 - The terminal was expanded with the addition of a second tank

2002 - the LNG tanker Al Zubarah arrived at the LNG terminal in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture, with 60,000 tons of LNG (liquefied natural gas) from Qatar. This brought the cumulative total of LNG unloaded at the terminal to 100 million tons.
