Description

  • The Buchan field is located on blocks 20/5 and 21/1
    • The Buchan Alpha was a floating production facility
    • Oil was exported from the Buchan Alpha platform via Forties Charlie then through the Forties Pipeline System (FPS) Nigg Oil Terminal
    • The **Hannay Field** is a subsea development that was tied back to the Buchan Alpha facility
  • The field was closed down in 2017 but is to be redeveloped
    • Re-development of Buchan is based on a new production hub located at the Buchan field utilising a floating production, storage and offloading (“FPSO”) vessel
    • Subject to project sanction and regulatory approval, the target for first production is late 2026.
    • Peak production rates are expected to be around 35,000 barrels per day.
