Description
- The Breagh A field is located in UKCS block 42/13 of the southern North Sea in 62 metres water depth, approximately 100 kilometres to the east of Teesside.
- Production is controlled from a small unmanned platform
- Gas is exported via a 20" pipeline from the platform to the Teesside Gas Processing Plant (TGPP) on the UK mainland
- Phase 2, expected to receive FDP approval in early 2012, is expected to include additional wells in the east of the field drilled from a Breagh Bravo platform tied back to Alpha
Contractors
- **Heerema:** Construction of the jacket, topsides and piles
- **Allseas Construction:** Engineering, installation and pre-commissioning of the offshore pipeline and associated fibre optic cable
- **FoundOcean:** Grouting
- **KWSubsea:** FEED of a 5km long 20" wet gas and 3" MEG/CI circulation pipeline between the existing Breagh A and the proposed Breagh B platforms
History
- 2009 - RWE acquired a 70% stake in the field
- 2010 - Heerema awarded contract for construction of the jacket, topsides and piles
- 2011 - Government approval granted
- 2011 - Successful installation of Breagh platform
- 2013 - First gas produced
- 2015 - Ineos announces the acquisition of RWE Dea's share
