Description

  • ACG is a super-giant field located about 100 km east of Baku. It is the biggest producing oil field in the Caspian Sea and covers an area of more than 432 square kilometres.
  • It lies in water depths of between 120 and 170 metres. The depth of the reservoir is 2,000-3,500 metres.
  • It is operated by BP on behalf of the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC)
  • Oil is exported to the Sangachal Oil and Gas Processing Terminal
  • There are currently three platforms operating, West Chirag platform, Chirag and Deepwater Gunashli platform
  • The West Chirag platform has been installed at a water depth of about 170 metres. The design oil capacity of the platform is 183 thousand barrels per day.

Azeri Central East (ACE)

  • The Azeri Central East (ACE) project is centred on a new 48-slot production, drilling and quarters platform located mid-way between the existing Central Azeri and East Azeri platforms in a water depth of approximately 140 metres. The project will also include new infield pipelines to transfer oil and gas from the ACE platform to the existing ACG Phase 2 oil and gas export pipelines for transportation to the onshore Sangachal Terminal.
  • In addition, there will be a water injection pipeline installed between the East Azeri and ACE platforms to supply injection water from the Central Azeri compression and water injection platform to the ACE facilities.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in 2023
