Brief Description

• Atlantic is the operator of a four-train liquefaction facility located at Point Fortin on the southwest coast of Trinidad, and is one of the largest exporters of LNG in the world.
• Each Train is ultimately owned by a holding company which comprises its own group of Member companies.
• The four train LNG liquefaction plant is located in Point Fortin, on the southwest coast of Trinidad.
• Gas is supplied from a large number of offshore fields, via the Beachfield Gas Processing Plant

History

• 1996 - Construction of the project began
• 1997 - Financing package completed
• 1999 - Atlantic LNG began commercial operation
• 2000 - Construction of Trains 2 and 3 commenced
• 2002 - Train 2 was commissioned
• 2003 - Train 3 was commissioned
• 2005 - Train 4 was commissioned
• 2010 - Atlantic loads its 2000th Cargo
• 2011 - CIC purchases a 10% stake in the terminal
• 2013 - Shell acquires Repsol's stake
• 2015 - Shell acquired BG Group and became majority owner

• The original partners in the the terminal were Amoco Trinidad (LNG) BV 34 per cent; British Gas Trinidad LNG Ltd., 26 per cent; Repsol International Finance BV, 20 per cent; Cabot Trinidad LNG Ltd., 10 per cent; and National Gas Company of Trinidad & Tobago LNG Ltd., 10 per cent
