Summary Information Ownership: ASORC Website: http://www.asorc.com/ Location: Assiut, Egypt Capacity: 4.5 million tons/annum & 90,000 bbl/day Nelson Complexity: Refining Depth: Brief Description The refinery is a small and very simple one. It has recently been upgraded to enable it to produce high octane gasoline and a hydrocracker is to be added Refining Units Atmospheric Distillation Naphtha Hydrotreater (NHT) Continuous catalytic Reformer (CCR) Isomerization unit Vapor recovery unit LPG and Naphtha caustic wash units. Terminal Capacity Crude Oil: Refined Products: Crude Supply The refinery processes domestic crude from the Gulf of Suez oil fields Products Produced gasoline, kerosine, gasoil, fuel oil and LPG. Ongoing Projects A project to add a hydrocracker, the Assiut Refinery Hydrocracking Complex Project has been launched. A gasoline project was completed in 2018, consisting of a Naphtha Hydrotreater (NHT), Continuous catalytic Reformer (CCR) and a C5/C6 isomerization unit with deisohexanizer recycle unit.
